Thanks to everybody i managed to put the new alternator in.. Big Job.
Now when i measure the charching voltage it is 13 volts with a fully charged battery. ( by 5000 rpm )
I think this is allright ,in the garage manual they say between 12.6 and 15 volt.
Is there anybody who can tell me more about this isseu.
I have an st1100 1993.
I just want to be sure before i put everything back in place.

regards

Is the new one a 40 amp unit? if it is you should be getting 13.2-13.6 if it's the 28 amp you should be getting 14-15V
Cheers

Was that a NEW stator you installed, or a supposedly good used one? That 13 volts is not what one would expect from a properly charging 28 amp system, as noted by Kiltman. If the alternator IS good, you may have a bad voltage regulator rectifier (VRR).
