In this thread I am detailing my bike as purchased in October 2017. This thread will be updated as I identify the non-standard features of the bike, also as I complete work on the bike such as inspection, maintenance, and further modification.

All feedback welcome :)

Some holes in the pannier and a sticker, presumably an intercom which has since been removed from the bike.

Those are indeed the factory Fairing and Mirror Deflector sets. Out of production they are highly sought after.

A very nice looking bike and generously farkled Andrew. Were I lucky enough to score a Honda top box I wouldn't rest until I got the factory LED spoiler. For me it's the whole reason for the top box!

Scored a used set by sheer dumb luck.
When you're lucky you don't have to be good. And I'll still say 'Well done!'

And not to put too fine a point on it but the Fairing and Mirror Deflector sets are two sets not one.

So double well done!! <— worthy of an extra exclamation point.

The lower fairing wind deflectors get in my way, I'm quite long legged. Some of that might be technique, or seat height (not experimented with that yet), but they are quite sharp!

Only thing I will do in the short term is play with the seat and fit the sat nav, everything else will remain while I get used to the bike and put a few miles on it for the rest of the year. Then I'll decide what I'm going to change over the winter.

Thanks for the comments :)

Hi Andrew

Since the previous owner had all sorts of stuff on there, I'd take a look at the connection that remain to the battery. I've seen all sorts of spaghetti strapped onto the +ve battery post, unsecured and unprotected. Pay particular attention to any additional wire going from the +ve terminal to the first inline fuse. If it can move around and rub then at some time it will wear through to the copper. With no fuse at that point to protect it, it will leave you stranded or singed !

If you fancy a ride over in this direction some time I'd be happy to cast an experienced eye over it.

That sounds like a good idea John, I definitely don't want to get singed!
