OK, thought I'd start another coldest ride game, with fewer (no) rules. Essentially, just post the lowest temp you've ridden in for more than a few miles for the 2017-2018 winter. Extra details would be nice, but not required, i.e. gear worn, where you went, etc. I'll post the names and temps of the top 10 in this first post, as they are generated.

I'll start... I rode 27 miles to work yesterday morning and it was 46°F when I started. Didn't pull out my electric gear yet, just wore my Tourmaster Transition 4 jacket and Caliber pants, with liners.

Ride safe and stay warm out there. [emoji6]

On Sunday, I rode 60 miles from Ely, MN to Silver Bay, MN in 37 degree temps. Heated grips, heated seat, long johns... and typical other gear.

This won't last long, I left TentSTOC last month on my way home and it was 44 degrees at 4:30 am I think... I don't think anyone else was planning on waking up for another 5 hrs and 20 degrees.. lol

For the 2017 (Feb 2017), so far my lowest has ben 10*F. Trip was 32 miles to work, wearing leather Scorpion All-In Jacket, hoodie under it, long sleeve t shirt under that, jeans, leather over pants, insulated socks and boots. Also had my face covered with windproof fleece.
Just to start fresh, I was planning on this being for the Winter of 2017-2018, i.e. by season not by year. I'm trying to minimize the rules/requirements, but we do need some boundaries so we can do this again next Winter.

Everyone OK with that?

Are we counting wind chill or just ambient air temp? I only ask because it has gotten I to the teens and lower here in northern Virginia, but with wind chill it can dip into sub zero temps. . .

Not sure how cold it was because the thermometer on BMW's quit giving you a number when they reach 1C. This was Oct 10 this year. Had a heated jacket liner and grips and was actually quite comfortable except to the prospect of black ice:eek:

I posted the link to this video quite a while ago, but if you did not see it is worth watching and pretty amazing.

I guess I'll wait for a real cold night again and try to best my -25°F from a few years ago.
That would likely end up being the lowest, go for it!!
