Okay, it's happening for us! It was 36F this morning during my ride into work today! (well, for a few miles anyway.)

I did see 51F at one spot, but it went back down to 39F, soon after! We are having some really weird weather here in SoCal! :eek:4:

That's pretty good... I could never get my wife to go out at that temp! Anything much below 60° or so and I'm riding solo. ;)
My wife will only ride when it is between 76 and 78. We where going on a group ride with some friends and it was only in the low 80's. About 3 miles from home I had to turn around and take her back home.

Picked up 37° this morning, but it's supposed to be mid-twenties tomorrow morning... might be able to get a recordable data point, which I'm sure won't last long. ;)

About 60 miles is her limit, or one hour out and one hour back. There is always warmer gear in the saddle bags but if it gets hotter I would be in trouble. I guess the air would be on full blast.

Sounds like it's time for some Christmas shopping. A cooling vest seems in order and likely an electric vest for the other end of the temp spectrum. My wife loves her extra accessories.

Left for work this morning at 9 degrees F.
Thirty minutes and 25 miles later it was reading 11 so I'll claim a 10 deg-F ride this morning.
Klim bibs, jacket, boots and gloves. Nothing heated yet so I should be good to drop another 10 degrees and turn on the heat if needed.

Later,
Kent Larson in Minnesota

That's a cold one Kent, colder than my coldest ever (12°). 10° puts you at the top of the list for now.

I would be in trouble. Cooling vest would keep her wet, to much like sweating. I get that look when it is cold ( that you are crazy). Even with my heated gear there is no way.

It is 37 now in West Tennessee might get to 24 by the morning. Finally some cold weather. I still have green grass, I think this will take care of that. In another week the local bike gear shop should have there gear marked down. All my Harley friends bikes will be down for the long winter nap. And I will be one of the few still riding.

I’m showing high teens in the morning here in Oklahoma City. I might have to take a ride myself. It is rare that it gets cooler than that here. I’ve only see single digit maybe 4 or 5 times in the 43 years I have lived here. Maybe I can get in the top 10 for a day or two.
I know The Dan is just sitting back waiting to make us all look like Girl Scouts. That man is not right!!!

Went to work on the bike this morning... well, always go to work on the bike really (unless there is ice/snow on the pavement). Bike temp indicator showed 17F most of the way to work. Had to work late today so rode home well after dark and temp was up to 21F at that time. Heated gloves are the only electrics I use ever... so far. I've been fine with layers otherwise.

18 degrees on the ST's thermometer on this mornings ride. I had the jacket liner on about 3/4 and the grips on 40%. Cheeks and toes got a little cold lol

17° F here for the 45 minute 70mph morning ride, I did add the electric socks into the heated gear mix. The security guard checking my ID asked if it must had been a cold ride in. I told him at least I was moving, you're standing still and shivering even with the heater blowing on you. I smiled, thanked him for his service and the job he does, then rode on.

Saw 23° on the way to work this morning. Heated jacket and gloves were both at about 60-75%. Wore an extra layer of socks and finally put the liner in my pants. Was pretty toasty except I didn't wear my neck gator so my chin was a bit nippy when I got to work.

I left much later than usual (sun was way up)... think I could have gotten a sub-20 reading if I'd left at my normal time (daylight), it was about 18° then. This morning will be the coldest I see until maybe after Christmas.

The way it's going, my 23° will probably get pushed off the list in a few hours! I had my chance at a pretty low temp though, I just didn't leave early enough this morning.

Went to Parowan Utah late Wednesday night from American Fork. Layered up pretty well. The temps as I left around 11 PM were 27 - 25, not a big deal, but abount an hour into the ride it dipped down to 19. I started to feel the cold, it then dipped down to 14 and then it wouldn't register any more, just showed dashes. It would periodically show 14 again then dashes for a quite a while. I learned my gear is fine down to 23, but below that I was uncomfortable. I made it to a rest stop just outside parowan where my daughter was waiting, I was very, very cold. The thermometer in her 4Runner showed the temp being 6 degrees. Is 14 the lowest the ST will display for you guys as well?

yep... those are dashes.
My brother thought it should show DA (Dumb *ss), but he rides a Harley. ;)

I have a kitchen thermometer I tried to use for the old coldest ride competition but it did the same thing. Guess it's built into certain chips. (We quit doing the real competition because someone in the Dakotas would trump us and then put sparklers on his shoes to show off. (No, we quit for other reasons))

I have found that my droid will quit charging and the camera flash quits working too in those temps.
