I have to admit I've been kind of lusting after it. But there are things I don't like: being totally dependent on Bluetooth, having to do GPS routes on the Honda online app, odd shaped interior of luggage (and it's small size compared to years past). The dash is almost TOO complicated, as is managing some of the tech.
BT doesn't bother me. I'm fed up with cables and the Sena really drove that home. You would have to remember to charge it on long trips and that could be a problem.

I don't do Base Camp level planning so the Honda app might even be overkill for me. And the All The Contingency types might want a dedicated GPS anyway.

The luggage interior thing might bug me. As somebody mentioned previously a 15" laptop doesn't fit in the ST bags. I wonder if it would fit in the new smaller odd-shaped Wing bags.

I have no intention of moving up to Wing territory but I'm oddly very interested in seeing this one.

2 up on the new GoldWing and go cross country , More trailers will have to be used . For roughly double the price of my 1500 was , I would want more luggage space , not 43% less !

That being said, too bad they had to reduce it that much. Wouldn't stop me from purchasing it though.
Same here. It does give a storage edge to the 1600 BMW at 115L I believe. For me a Nelso-Rigg or Kuryakin day bag would fix that. I plan on getting one for my ST but it doesn't have a top box at all.

So if you want more hard storage just go for the GL1800BD (Gold Wing DCT) and add a Shad SH58X or SH59X top case to end up with a total of 118L. This is the adjustable top case that shrinks to 46L or expands to 58L as needed. I'm sure Shad will come out with the attachment kit for the new Wing within a year. Personally I'd go with that same bike, add the rear carrier, and continue using my 110L dry bag on the tail when I need more storage while traveling bringing the total up to 170L. Add my 35L dry bag for my tent and storage is boosted to 205L.

I try to travel light and I don't travel that much. A bag on the seat would be fine for me.

I tend to take 2 week trips every year (WeSTOC, with a long before or after leg). I don't like to do laundry, and I also travel with two sets of riding gear: mesh, and waterproof/cold weather gear. Plus odds and ends like camera(s), laptop, a CPAP machine, tools, jumper battery, etc. So I can pretty easily fill up the ST1300 luggage.

But I suspect that they will most likely be inside the lobby of Honda HQ along with a few cars on display.

Jefro.
I just called Honda HQ in Torrance, no joy. No GW on display till Long Beach show. Bummer
