If they put a shaft on it, a good fairing and all the other things an FJ has, then Yes!
Or do it to the VFR or revamp the ST1300 or do whatever. But they don't see to care.

Uh no. Could someone make it into a replacement for themselves? Maybe.

It's all relative but for me an ST replacement has to be shaft drive. Or maybe belt drive. No chain. A chain driven bike is another animal. Despite whatever advances have been made with chains since the mid-'80s they don't replace a shaft for an S-T or ST for me.

Just about everything else is negotiable though I'd prefer a V4 over an inline 4 for a narrower profile. So the CB1300 wouldn't replace the ST for me. And I doubt Honda is marketing it as such.

People really need to disabuse themselves of the notion that anything that has the same displacement (CB) or the same drivetrain (CTX) or a similar purpose (GL) is a replacement for the ST. Honda has left the sport-touring market and there are no signs it will be returning unless there's a big resurgence in demand.

Wow, dual shock rear suspension!! This looks like a retro bike bike, going back to the inline 4's of the early 80's. Looks like an old CB750 with a few minor modern enhancements, and of course a jump in displacement

It reminds me of the FJ1200 back in the mid/late 80's I wanted so bad. I settled on a KZ650 <sigh>, but it was a great bike too.
Yeah, I lusted over the FJ1200 back in the 80's too.....

I haven't had a chain driven bike in 35 years, since my RD400. but I would take one of the Bol D'Or models with the half-fairing, bags and top case in a heartbeat. I don't have a thing against inline fours.

I'd take the updated version over the outdated models any day and would prefer aluminum wheels over spoked wheels. Still I could live with the latter easily but would have to source/paint/swap the tank to yellow. And maybe paint the side covers to match too.

I had one of these myself....1984 CB700SC-blue....first shaft bike I'd ever ridden....and rode it from San Diego to Whistler BC across every coastal bridge I could find...good 'ol 80's Hondas.
