Thermostat failing?

Thanks for all the input everyone.
I suppose my concern was water immediately circulating from first start of the day. In all my other vehicles there was no circulation until the thermostat opened, at which coolant circulation began.
That's the same for the ST1300. When the thermostat is closed no coolant gets to the radiator.

In a properly functioning ST1300 coolant system the fans may kick in at low speeds and high ambient temps or when you stop the bike (all depending on air temperature) but you'll never see more than three bars.

Take off at any kind of speed and the fans quit and the gauge is still at three bars.

I am having the same issue for my '06. When riding in low 50's or cooler i get 1 or 2 bars on the temp gauge. It seems on this thread that it is the thermostat. I have ordered a new one & an o-ring and have my weekend project now.
