thanks for that! I found a tube of putty type 2 part epoxy made by jbweld that I used last night-- hoping it'll hold up as I'd hate for the crack to get bigger.I've had good results with this stuff....

I also decided to (since I had to do a brake flush anyway) flush the clutch fluid-- glad I did as it was nasty!
Oil change today (the stuff I drained looked almost new but at least now I have a starting point for my records) then plastics can go back on.
I have an air cleaner on order and when that comes in, I'll pull the tank (don't forget to replace the hose!!!-- I learned that awful lesson on my first ST!!!) and probably do a starter valve sync. Not that it needs it now, but again as a baseline.
I'll also pull the airbox to check hoses and replace vacuum lines while down there.
