I've just had my Hagon Shock rebuilt. After 12 years on the ST1100X, it was tired.
To keep the crap away from the damper rod, I slid a length of inner tube over the shock and held it in place with one zip tie at the top.
For those who don't know the Hagon, the damper adjuster is at the lower end, so it is still accessible.
Is what I've done a good thing, or a waste of time?

As long as it doesn't in any way conflict with the action of the shock, it won't hurt to keep it clean in there.

I'll bet you've just given Jim Van a bit of PM advice that'll keep him busy too!
