Surely there is someone in this group with a nice 2005 ST1300 who will jump for the new Goldwing and will then sell the 2005. And they live near Waynesville, NC. I think my 2007 ST1300 is the finest motorcycle I have owned but it isn't red. I went out to Moonshine Campground during the ST meet and there was not a single ST1300 there. I did pass a Silver Bike going the other way when I was on the road to Moonshine. I had planned to be at the Sagebrush Saturday night but my twin brother's son came to town for a Chevrolet Corvair meet and I couldn't miss the evening with him. Maybe someone will come up with a better bike than the ST1300 but I haven't seen it. After owning both a 2007 FJR and a 2007 ST1300, I sold the FJR.

I'm selling my 2005. It's got an issue misfiring if you are up to a little project.

I had a 2005 and I miss it.

Not certain I would call it "Red" ... I think the 2008s were red. But, it is the best color.

Is it possible to do a wrap on a motorcycle? Could pick any color you want.

Yes it is. I saw a BMW RT wrapped. Was pretty amazing.

We have our roofing trucks wrapped. But the wrap can be scratched and torn if you are not careful - much easier than paint - and you don't go through a car wash (which is not a problem on motorcycles ;-)).
But if the job is done right, you cannot tell a wrap from a paint job. We had a white truck wrapped with black and our company stuff and unless you open the doors, you would not know that the truck was white. We're seeing about 3-5 years before the wrap starts to peel a little bit on the trucks.

The guy paid $850 and noted one of the benefits of being able to return the bike to its original color at time of sale. I'm curious as to how much of that could be recouped in resale assuming the bike itself is in good condition.

If the wrap was in good shape then maybe the choice of keeping the wrap with the option of returning to factory would be a selling point.

Given Unc's observations on wear and tear I'm not sure wrap would be my choice. If a section could be rewrapped that might be easier than repainting. I've never seen DIY paint touch-ups that didn't look DIY not that a good job couldn't be done.

Gee, I'm pretty sure we were at BRG this year, and I ride a '05 ST1300 which may or may not be for sale. I'm loving my new K1600, but The ST has a different attitude that I stil like.
