Oh my. I’ll be bopping ‘round on my black 2010 ST1300.
That will undoubtedly confuse the local constabulary.

when I saw the word, "constabulary", it caught my attention. Our police force here in St. John's, Newfoundland is called the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary. This is the other other time I have ever seen that word used, assuming you are referring to your local police.

I like to have fun with words and language.
More arcane, more syllables, more melodic .... all good.

“Constabulary” is such a delightful word. It rolls around in your mouth and off the tongue to such lovely effect.
And, my understanding is that in Canada the police are not technically “officers”. Their proper title is “Constable”.

Indeed it is. I've always liked 'constable' as well. It has a noble sound to it. I believe the title is widely used in Canada but not universally. Someone from up north can correct/expand.

I did once meet a constable (Senior Constable) visiting here. The title is an old one and I didn't know until then it was still in use. But then that was before the Internet and BBSs. I like tradition.

If my recollection of Ozzie TV shows is correct 'constable' is also used in areas of Australia.
