6 years old and $18.5 retail ... they should be blowing these out at $9995 and 1.9% interest

New 2012 ST13's are available for about 14.5 k sterling over here and I think finance on a PCP is 6.9%.
Same aged bikes used with very low miles from about 3000 go for about 8 k sterling. Plus they probably have boxes on.
You do the math.
Upt'North.
I hate that word " math".

The word doesn't bother me. The processes do. :rofl1: The word 'maths' does sound— awkward though.

It makes me wonder why they are bothering - unless they are trying to clear the decks for something else. They had a series of offers on the ST1100 over here before the ST1300 was announced. Things like free top box; special interest rates and such like, if I remember correctly. Not saying that a new version is on the cards, but there must be a reason that they want them out of the official Honda shops - not least because the price of the ST1300s that are left would plummet if a competitor bike came along.

They will never "clear the decks" at that price for a 6 year old ST. I thought that was the going price for them back in 2011 or 2012, when they were first released. Even the 2010 models are overpriced by at least $6K.

How about arithmetic? Seriously, any leftover but new 2010 bikes are going to be sold through Honda's dealership network, and any dealer will ask a high price initially, and work his way south when someone appears to be interested. It's hard to up the price when a customer walks in the door and looks like he will buy the bike. The finance rate is going to be set by the banks- going lower just costs the dealer (or Honda) money.

I can't imagine a dealer floor-planning a bike for 6 years and trying to ask sticker. And Honda or a bank will certainly finance a 6 year old bike with what, 60%+ down? I can't help but wonder what the various storage conditions have been for these bikes and the condition of the rubber, foam and other non-lubricated metal parts.

On December 9, 2014 I bought my 2012 from a Honda dealer for $10,500. The Honda dealer had 2 the day I saw the ad. One for show, another one still in the crate. Two days later he had none. Mine was the one in the crate. It had .04 miles on it when I took it for a test ride.

Unless Honda came across a bunch of them sitting in a warehouse someplace and now have a bunch to get rid of...because I'm not seeing any new ones on Cycletrader!

I was told by Huntington Beach Honda, at the Long Beach show, that they still sell ST1300 Police bikes. But you'll need a P.O. from an appropriate City or Agency to get one - no retail sales.

You see used ex-PD bikes showing up on Cycletrader. I'm not sure how much is actually different.

There's a number of "little differences between the ST1300 & ST1300P models.

My problem is how they treat those bikes at PDs. They really :box1: many of them up!

I think that they beat up only some of them. The training bikes and the few that are involved in an accident. Most patrol bikes get TLC by the officers since they have to ride them everyday.
I remember that the Honda guy at the show said that the 2012 was the last civilian model and the 2016 was the last of the police models....
I drive by Hollywood Motors in Chatsworth every day and they have a bunch of ex police bikes of all types ( They rent to the movie folks ) for sale if you are looking for one.

I paid 12k for my 2012 back in March of this year...

Yeah, what's that bike going to be worth as soon as you ride it off the lot?

Wow multi-day operation - planes, hotels, food, 19 hours yikes. you have to add that to the cost of shipping...
I made that 1000 mile run up I5 and back to Portland 16 times, two daughters went to college (UP) there.

My brother took me on the back of his HD for about 1 hour 10 minutes down to Huntington Beach. I filled out papers and delivered a cashiers check and we were out the door on our way home.

What's it worth now.... Priceless!....
