Fuel starvation?

At the moment just looking to cover all basics whilst bodywork off.
Sometimes a situation/circumstance/incident is overthought. If and when it is that's probably better than the alternative.

Thanks Ron. Been pondering on this one, what is the actual point of having shut off valve given that fuel isn't going anywhere if pump switched off?
Theoretically, if you had a leaking float needle valve, it may be possible to have hydraulic lock, if a cylinder has a lot of gas in it.

This happened to a good friend recently. He bought a very cheap CBR1000F (Hurricane) to renovate off ebay. Faulty manual petcock, worn float needle valve, crankcase full of gas/petrol.... you can guess the rest. One replacement engine later..................:sad:(still a bargain though:))

I hear this is a common problem on older Kawasaki Concours, too. You can get float bowls that fit the old Concours that have "overflow" tubes installed to combat the problem.
