As you guys know I'm new to the ST world.
My new to me 02 ST1100 with ABS/TC has 1" raisers for the handle bars. I'd like the bars to be 1" higher and 1 1/2" closer to me.
I have not found any bar raisers that will put the bars 2" higher than stock and 1 1/2" closer to me.

So my focus is know on different handle bars.
Has anyone found a handle bar that will do what I'm looking for?

What about 2" Rox risers? They can be adjusted to be closer to you as well.

Any riser more than about an inch won't work with the ABSII ST1100... the brake line is not long enough.

I don't think different handlebars will work either because they too would move the brake master cylinder.

You're going to need a longer brake line.

On the ABS bikes, you can replace the brake line with one from a standard bike, it's long enough to use the 4" Major risers - it worked on my '97 ST1100A anyway...
I'll have to order a hose for the non-ABS model. You had the 4" Major risers on your '01? Did you have to change the throttle cables?

Thanks Paul. I know this is going to be some work but I think it will be worth it.

I may be entirely wrong, but I seem to remember investigating this once many years back when I got my first 1100 and decided that a part of the bars / brake lever / knuckles would connect with the fairing - which here in the UK would be an MOT failure.
Ya, that would be first thing I would look at when I change them out.

Helibars sells brake line extensions. I have 2nd generation Helibars on mine and love them. The first generation Helibars aren't as relaxed.

I see ROX has a 3 1/2" that may work.

Another cheaper option I used for my Nighthawk were bars from a Goldwing gl1100. I wish I'd kept them when I dold my NH. You could order the hydraulic line extensions from Helibars so you wouldn't have to change the lines.

I'm actually looking for GL1100 handle bar now.
Looks like I have a couple of options for the hoses but I think the biggest challenge will be the cables.

I know this is an old thread, but what did you end up doing on your handlebars?
