Almost finished a complete rebuild/repaint of my GSF400 Bandit

Still have idle issues, haven't they all?!

Few bolts to replace/replate

Needs to move onto another owner towards the summer - it's fun but too small now I have the ST!

Thank you both

I bought it in a right mess, hadn't run for 5 years, needed a lot of tlc & I didn't even like it! It was just a needed project to keep my brain ticking and do up and sell

The more work I did the more I liked it! 75% of me says keep her and the other 25% says I don't need her!

It'll always be worth more than its cost me so may keep until the summer for the odd blast

I like the tiny little 4's. Always wished I had a spot for a 400F Honda. But the wee bandit is way more bike!
Wouldnt hate to have an RD400 daytona either. Just sayin. Been riding these big fat heavy bikes for so long I miss the little light bikes.

Ahhhhh.....the Yamaha RD400. A classic 70's ring-ding. Very nice!

I also really do like that Suzuki 400 Bandit - but I don't think we ever got those over here in NAM.

Well done!! What year is it?

My first bike was an '82 Yamaha Seca 400.

30 years later, I found myself missing that bike so much that I was tempted to travel 1500 miles, one way, to buy one for a rebuild. Unfortunately, it was sold before I decided to commit.

I say keep it!

Yup - I have regretting selling every single bike I have ever sold and the paltry amount of money that each sale realized would easily be swamped by the value of those bikes now.

In short, I agree with Loki - keep it.

Sorry forgot to say it's a 1992, imported to the UK in 2001

I also have

2010 Sym 125cc scooter (yes yes I know but it uses less than a gallon of fuel to get me to work and back for a week lol! And saves my Pan for pure pleasure)

This Bandit, 1992

1999 ST1100 50th anniversary edition currently under restoration

and my 2002 ST1300

[SUB][/SUB]Gotta love those little 400's. I had this red 75 F back in the 80's. Also had this 76 F yellow. Loved both of them. And at the same time had this blue 76 550F.

I think you should keep that little bike forever. I would.
I agree. A smaller second bike is a great addition to the ST if time/space/money/desire allow.

That would be enough for me to keep it but then I'm kinda lazy that way. I might opt for something that appeals to me more but I'd still like to have a smaller second bike. Or even a lighter not necessarily smaller bike.

All I know is I need a bigger workshop, but then I'd fill it with more junk, tools and bikes hahaha!

I'd quite like a NT700 as a daily, let's see what this year brings!

Wouldn't we all Boon! Remember Pete's First Rule of Tools and Toys:
