I'm not sure if any of you have really looked at it or not, but the new design for the 2018 Goldwing looks very similar to the ST1300 to me. I think that maybe Momma Honda tried to cross the two in an attempt to shed some weight and make the Goldwing a bit sportier! Smaller bags and from the front it pretty much looks like a ST.
Just curious what others think!

Well, it would 'solve' Honda's problem of not cannibalizing their Goldwing sales by upgrading the ST and also would have one less platform to support. It would be nice if Honda would take the Goldwing improvements (especially the front forks and the electronics), put in the new VFR1200 engine, come out with the new ST. But probably not in our lifetime ... ;-)

Actually that has been noted in the other New Gold Wing threads a few times. Seems you're not alone. However, I still think there is more kinship to the CTX1300 and believe that the CTX was used as a test platform for many styling queues that went into the new Wing

Really depends who you ask and what bike they own and like best.

I'm guessing you haven't read any of the 2018 Gold Wing threads.

With some pics no less.

Honda is definitely appealing to a younger tourer who wants a sportier ride than the older Wings and a tourier ride than the ST. Sort of an ST on STeroids.

I swear if my GW buddy gets a new 'Wing (even if it's only the manual GWT) I'm going to have vinyl ST1800 logos made.
