Its been cold and I finally purchased some Volt heated gloves. Very nice, gauntlet style, comes with a great controller, too hot to ride at the 50%setting at 40 degrees. They did a great job with these BUT my thumb must be an inch shorter than average. Nearly every glove I have ever worn the thumb is so long it is rendered completely useless for operating lights, blinker, etc. They are way too bulky, I have no feel. I need something that is thin on the palm side and plush on the backhand side.I have considered having them tailored but they are heated and i dont know if anyone will even touch it.

I have a pair of sedici summer gloves that are fantastic, great fit.

These Volts suffer from the same "thumb is waay to long for me" symptoms and the pinky is too, constantly catching on the clutch and front brake.

For those of us who have smaller hands, especially thumbs and hate the hippo hands feel what is available?

I don't have experience with it in the small size but I can guarantee you they make the same long thumb mistake in the XX and XXX sizes. Thumb went half way down the first finger.

There's a 'guy', Ken Phenix, that will make custom heated gear for you. As I understand, he'll make a heated glove from just about any glove you want, assuming it's possible. If you find some winter gloves that fit, I think he can make them heated for you. He really gets around on a lot of sites but here are a few links for him...

Ypu might have to go the custom glove route, and then have someone like Ken Phenix add heat. I have no idea who does custom gloves any more - if you find a source, you might post the name here. Thurlow used to do this but they are long since out of business. I went through three pairs of Aerostitch Ropers - they are just not made to fit my hands. Good luck in your search.

Thats good info! I was looking at a TourMaster glove a friend has, the palm was very thin for use on heated grips but the outer shell was much thicker. I wanted to find something like that and Ken may be able to put heat into it, I would just love that! I will give it a shot, Thanks!
