I am in need of ideas as to why my recently installed radar detector on my 93 ST1100 is not communicating with my StarCom1 Advanced Intercom.
I have had the intercom for about five years and it has worked very well. No issues of any kind.

Recently I installed a new Uniden LRD850 radar detector.
Without the audio jack connected…the RD operates normally with alerts through the internal speaker.
However when an audio cable is installed between the radar detector and the Starcom1 AUX jack…I get no audio from the radar detector to the StarCom1.
I am using the recommended StarCom1 # CAB-36A isolated radar cable.

I have tried the AUX port…the Phone Port…the audio port…and the remote port without success.

I have adjusted the Volume control and VOX…without success.

As soon as I unplug the RD it operates normally using the internal speaker.
As soon as I hook up the CAB-36A… no audio to the rider or passenger helmets is being received through the StarCom1.
Rider to passenger communication works normally. Just no radar alerts.

I also had a second spare new in the box StarCom 1 intercom set with all new cables that I switched out with the old set and the problem remains the same.

I switched radar detectors to another LRD850 from one of my other vehicles…and no change.

Any suggestions of things I might check?

Thanks in advance.

Yes...it is mono out of the Radar Detector audio out receptacle... and stereo into the StarCom1 AUX receptacle.
It is the radar cable that Starcom1 specifies.

WOWZER!!!! 40 bucks for a cable!!! I am using an el cheapo 3.5mm stereo cable from Amazon with a $2 stereo to mono adapter with my RD and I hear all sounds crystal clear with my BT setup. You might wanna give that a try first.

With my Autocom stuff, I MUST run the RD through an isolator in order for it to work properly and keep from blowing the RD. I'm not familiar with your system but you might also need the isolator in order to get the signal right.

Sounds like a bad cable. I'm using an escort mono radar cable. Male end plugged into the RD, the female end, built into the isolator, is also mono so I have a mono-to-stereo converter plugged into that and finally a common stereo male/male plug between the mono-to-stereo plug and the Starcom advance.
