I know that the 95' 1100 takes the 110/80 - 18 on the front. However, with the tire manufacturers continuing to reduce our tire options in that size, I am curious if you guys have opted for different sizes on the front? If so, what have you used and what has been your experience in doing so? I mean, are you willing to throw a 100/90 or 130/70 on there? just looking for some feedback. I really loved my Z6's but I cant seem to find the 110/80 anywhere (maybe I'm not looking in the right place).

So, not looking for brand opinions. Just looking at size opinions and experiences.

Thanks as always.

As of last spring, Metzeler still offered the 110/80 front in their Z6 Roadtec. You can safely use a 120/70 - 18 on the front. I wouldn't consider the two size options you suggested. The 130 is too wide for the wheel and the 100/90 too narrow and high, which may rub the fender.

Why change size at the risk of upsetting the ride when the original sizes are still available, I don't know about Metzler, but Bridgestone can provide at least three different approved tyres and Avon at least two.
Hope it helps.

I'm running the stock sizes in the Bridgestone Exedra's (Bias ply) right now, in fact, I just bought a new rear and need to find someone to install it (last indy shop near me went out of business!).

If I keep this ST, I intend to find a late ABS front rim so I can run a wider front. That way I can run the radials in the ABS size, and if need be I can go to the ST1300 sizes, as they also will fit.

You really don't need the ABS wheel to run a 120/70 -18 on your standard ST1100. I have had two or three of them over 20 years of tires, with zero issues. You can get radials in either the stock size, or the 120/70 size with the Metzeler Z6 Roadtec.

I just put on Bridgestone T30s in stock sizes after running Exedras (which are still available). I also considered Dunlop Roadsmart III and Avons which also were available in stock sizes. I didn't see the need to change sizes with the options available in both bias and radial.

I have put an ABSII front rim on my ST1100 standard with no problems. You just have to put the standard rotors on the ABSII rim (bolt pattern is the same) and it works fine. I have two ABSII models so I now run the same fronts on all of them - which happens to be the same size as the ST1300 front tires. And I also run the 170/60 ST1300 rears with no problems either.

Current rubber is Pirelli Angel GT:
120/70-18 front
170/60 17 rear
Non abs, love the tires, no issues or problems. Feel rock solid.
