San Bernardino County Sheriffs Dept. Has them too. I think the freeways are suited to STs and BMWs, the city streets better suited for H-Ds (ergonomics, mostly)

I saw a couple here in Oceanside a while back. Riding along side the BMWs.

I personally don't see how the ergonomics of a cruiser (any Cruiser)would be suited to the riding a Police officer would do. Just not nimble enough IMHO. As far as reliability Harley has made leaps and bounds to the point they are comparable with most other brands (I can't believe I said that). They still lack a bit of innovation in the engine department, even the V-rod.

Victoria, B.C. has had ST1300's for some time now. Saanich, a suburb of Victoria, now has 2 BMW's. The police seem to be smiling more now!

Fresno PD now has some ST's, dont know it they are switching over to them or just trying them out, they still have beamers and the old Kawis too, not sure about Harleys, they might be all gone.

Have you seen any in our area Malanclay? All I've seen are HD's. City of Champaign have a few, University Police have a few and of course the State Police. No ST's though.

As far as I know, Illinois does not have any in-service police Motors other than HD.
Des Plaines Honda does have a 05 ST1300P demo motor for police motorofficers. Had the pleasure of riding it this week. What a machine.

Sure wish our department would consider the ST. It will never happen. Too close to Milwaukee and not US made.

A friend of mine attended a big car/motorcycle auction in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago. He saw a bunch of police harleys and BMW's and was told the Ca Highway Patrol is switching to ST's. Could be a rumor, but maybe not.
