This was during my 9-day, 5600 mile trip early this year. One official SS1k, 2 others I didn't keep track of receipts for, and a few 800+ mile days along the way. Handled great...see my profile pic on the Dragon with this load. Tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, camp chair, tarp, clothes, spare parts, tools, and more. Not the biggest load shown...but it was a good load anyway.

The black bag is a Revpack Excursion Pack. Highly recommended for packing heavy.

There may have been more at the beginning but this was all that was still attached by the end of the fourth day. OBCDR in Oregon on the KLR.

Crossing Bull Shoals Lake at the Peel's Ferry Crossing October 15, 2012. On the way to one week of camping in Arkansas. We did no cooking other than heating up water for coffee or hot chocolate. So, that kept the load smaller.

My KLR on my first multi-day, multi-state adventure to Kentucky. That picnic table was the only sleep I got after working 9 hours then riding 400+ miles, with another 700 to go after the nap.

Three pictures:

1- My current FJR1300 on Nacimiento-Ferguson Road above California's Highway 1.
2- My old FJ1200 on my trip to Alaska back in '96.
3- My BMW F650GS in Death Valley in '09. (I wish I still had that bike!)

This brought back some nice memories.

This picture was at the Reading Motorcycle Club in Oley, PA. We camped out for the weekend. I had my two man tent, sleeping bag, pillow, sleeping pad, motorcycle cover, toiletries, clothes, snacks, tire plugs with compressor in my saddlebags. No top box. No tank bag. Nothing on my rear seat. I like to keep it simple. K .I.S.S. I was the only Honda ST1300 there out of about 500 bikes. 90% were Harleys. What a great weekend with a great group of guys even if they were a little misguided when it comes to performance, reliability and dependability.

Hi Pigpen...
Yup...the pic was taken 1971 in Cape Hatteras...the first ex-wife and I rode there from Cleveland.
In 1972, I bought a Suburban Carryall($15) and threw the bike, the wife and my buddy with his Chopped HD into it, and departed Cleveland for points south....sold the Carryall in Daytona ($150!) and rode to Key West, back along the Gulf Coast, to CA and then back...6500 miles in 49 days....camped almost all of the time...
It was great being young and dumb....

Fully loaded for my trip out west last year. This picture was setting the new New Mexico Tag, which George moved a few days later, along with my AZ tag and probably a few others!

If I gained 20 pounds, I wouldn't have been able to squeeze between my tankbag and camping gear.

IMG00399-20111207-1613.jpg Outwell Nevada M, sleeps 5, and has a large living area.

Outwell Nevada M, fits nicely across the rear seat and panniers, leaving lots of room in the boxes for bed, sleeping bag, stove, cooking utensils, food, towel & wash bag and clothing.

Pictured in December, minus 10 degrees Centigrade / 14 degree Fahrenheit

Loaded for two up camping on the way back to TN from NatSTOC. We manged quite well, a little top heavy, next time I will use BygDawgs' luggage rack in conjunction with a backrest and pack a large waterproof duffle on the back and leave the top case at home. If it's just me then I'd leave the top case on and place the duffle on the back seat.

Towing a trailer is an experience, especially on our 8000 mile trip around Scandinavia last summer. We reached the Nordkapp at the very top of Norway, and travelled to the Russian border before heading south through Finland, Sweden and Denmark - great trip.

This one is a few years ago. We were doing the Northwest and was on a Canadain Highway which when we came around the corner, it ended in the water. Took a ferry, road ferry, across the pond and continued on the way.
