Most recent pic of lipSTick loaded,,, the new yellow dry bag can hold a ton. It's long so added a thick plastic cutting board to extend the luggage rack to the rear.

Not the best shot, but ya get the idea. This was in front of Delgadillo's Snow Cap in Seligman, AZ yesterday. The 250 Verago is from Louisiana, guy (James) is riding alone to Oregon from the Gulf Coast, laid back and relaxed. He's packed too, sez the bike is doing fine at 70 MPG.

Thought I would put up some photos of my bike loaded for camping. Just got back from a camping trip in Hot Springs Ark. I guess ignorance is bliss. I didn't realize Honda had a weight limit on the rear carrier until I got back from my trip (right at 900mi). Everything road great and didn't cause my any problems except some stop and go traffic I encountered in Branson Mo. My short legs and a lot of top weight didn't mix. Weighed everything as I was loading the back end. Came out to a 100lbs of junk. Didn't need all of it but probably wouldn't change a thing if I was doing it all over.

I just looked through the entire thread, there are a lot of pics here!
Not quite enough though, so here's mine:

With the 2 panniers (35L each) and the Givi Topbox (55L) I have a decent amount of storage, I add the 65L tail bag for camping and I can easily fit my tent, stool, bed roll, sleeping bag and other stuff in that tail bag. The bag is a DrySpec bag guaranteed to be completely water proof and it is 28" long - I'm liking it much more than my previous tail bags which were smaller and not long enough to fit my tent.

Updated yet again for my new bike. Back to tent camping... at least for now until I decide about putting a hitch on the new bike or not.
This is the packed bike for LOCSTOC last month. There are a few changes I have in mind already to lessen the load on top. This trip I didn't pack anything in my Polar Bear cooler (red item near the top of the stack) and plan to put stuff in it next time that will combine a few items that were on top in the photo. I also am thinking of getting a large drybag to combine a few of the smaller ones into a single bag. Eventually I may get it looking more like in wihardy's pack above, or at least a little closer to that. I'm sure there are a few things I can leave behind. And my sleeping bag packs rather bulky (takes up a little more than half that yellow drybag).

This poor thread has gone pretty quiet. That's a shame, it's been great so far. I've been looking thru this one ( http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=237723 ) over at ADV Riders. Almost 450 pages of loaded bikes and campsites. I think ST-Owners can do even better!!

With winter biting us hard in the backside here in the midwest, all we can do is ride and camp vicariously thru the forums. Here's mine from last summer, just before WiSTOC. My first try at loading some new gear. I've already refined a lot.

Supere Tenere
My Yamaha Super Tenere easily holds as much as my ST1100 did. The Jesse panniers are huge and the best part, have lids that open up flat with storage in the top. I put the Bestem 929 topcase (http://amzn.to/1IndU2x) on my Yamaha, the same one I had on my ST1100 and try to keep it mostly empty when touring leaving room for jacket liners, snacks and my helmet when I'm off the bike. Riding from the PNW to warmer places in the SW meant I needed room for both cold and warm riding gear. I put that in the B-Alaska bag (http://amzn.to/1zSibXd) on the pillion seat. Tent, sleeping bag, rain fly, air mattress and other camping stuff all goes into the right side. Clothes go into the left side.

2 fer 1 deal. My ST1300 loaded for 21 days of camping and T. Boone Paddens Truimph for 28 days of camping. I've hardly ever carried a tank bag but for this long trip I wanted to have 2 cameras at arms reach. On the seat I had my cold weather sleeping bag, a full size $10 lawn chair and a half gallon water canteen. There are gloves bungied to the trunk for drying. My trunk was half full for most of the trip for those souvenirs I never bought.

The picture is at Chicken Alaska on the west end of the top of the world highway (yes ride it if you're in the area). We has just rolled in from our worst day of terrible (not) riding conditions.

Tom could probably stick everything on his rear seat in his saddlebags because he doesn't carry anything in the saddlebags but phone and camera chargers?

His bag roll has his tent with his sleeping bag and air mattress all rolled up in one. I think he just pulls the tent poles and rolls it all up. The bag under that is for his clothes. His trunk held 4 or 5 bottles of whiskey most of the trip. (Kept handy for any roadside breakdown).

Question. How do you insert a larger picture into a post ? Sometimes, thumbnails are better, but in this case .....
If you uncheck the 'retrieve locally' checkbox when using the pop up window or use the img tags it should be the larger pic.

On my iPad, no such check box, I only see these 3 options for check boxes. :shrug2:
