Yep it's finally almost done.

My version of a Sport Tourer based on the new Buell 1125r with farkles by Neil.

Convertabars
Spencer seat
Throttlemeister heavy, Ball milled black
HID low beams
Kisan License plate with LED brake and sequential turn signals
Tailblazar on main brake light (with LED bulb)
High output Cool Blue LED marking lights
Amplirider
MP3 player
Givi V35 hard bags
Alaska Butt Pad
Comming soon, PIAA 1100X

Below are a few picts of the V35 Givi hard bags I installed this weekend. Needless to say, Givi did not have a mount for a Buell, especially this new one.

Let me know what you think.

Okay, the ultimate farkle:
turn a Buell into a Honda. :D

The ultimate question: Why?

Kind'a like the mountain, because it's there?

So, how you likin' the 1125r? I love my Uly, but I wouldn't mind having something a little more sport and a little less tour. The local dealer is having a demo day next month and I'm planning to go try one out.

A: Because I wanted something lighter, quicker, better handling than the ST13 that I had some storage room for touring/ commuting. My 2 up ride is still the ST. My cold weather ride is still the ST.
B: I REALLY like the 1125r. It's my 5th Buell. I had 3 tubers and one XB (12r).
C: Time will tell on the CG. If they were much lower, I would not have enough cornering clearance. I'm not planning on a top box so, maybe I can get by. From initial rides with ~20lbs in each bag, I could not tell any difference.

Neil, if you're not careful Buell may try coping your idea. I lust for an 1125R but have no garage space for it. :(

I betting on Buell to do the same with this motor as they did with the XBs, lots of models based around the same idea.

I still think Eric started this project hoping to access the KTM v-twin when it was still in development. Harley and KTM were looking at a merger at one point. Had to go with the Sporster motor when that deal fell thru.

So, the 1125 is what the XB should'a been all along.

My opinion,

Byron:

If Buell wants to copy, they know where I live. I'd be more than happy to let them have a close look. Heck I even sent my contact a Givi close up detail shots so they could see how easy it was!

Afterall, I had some real close looks at a Uly before deciding just how I wanted to do it. BTW, just tell the SO that she needs to park outside of the garage. That should open up room for 3-6 more bikes. That way you don't have any excuses.

Joesphthreedogs:

You are in trouble. The "s" pegs or the pegs from the Uly are a 1" drop and. they bolt righ onto the 1125r. They are on mine since the first weekend.

George:

Hopefully their business plan has many, many iterations with this motor.

Yep I had both the S2T and a S3T. I sold the S2T for a better (IMHO) 2 up sport tourer. That's when i bought the ST1300. I still have the ST with 4 years and 84,000+ miles.

Actually a number of riders are asking the same question about the 1125r in a Uly type set up. The 1125r holds more fuel than even the Uly at 5.3gal.

For now my stable is complete, I still have farkeling to do......................

Just a shot or two from the Buell 25th annv. Home Coming.
1st shot is Erik signing the tail section of my 1125rt.
(He commented that this was a very clean install and very functional. He also commented that the shape was very well integrated with the 1125r design. :D Can't ask for any better validation than from the "man" himself. There was a lot of interest from the other Buell Engineers that were wandering around the parking lot at the Buell factory.)

2nd shot is his signature.

Any good ideas how to protect the signature for the long term? It was done with a paint pen.

Thx
Neil S.
