Yes, US20 about 9 miles west of West Yellowstone. That puts the MT, ID, and WY tags all within about 12 miles of each other BUT . . . After WeSToc I'll probably post an alternate for WY because you'll have to pay $20 to get the current one.

Old tag just east of West Yellowstone and the new tag.

Thanks Dan for putting the 3 tags closer together and making it "easy" for me to move them (WY. ID. MT.). They are all 3 still within 50 miles of each other.

I like the way you guys are tagging recently. Easy to find is the key or just tell where it is in the post. More people might play if the tags where easy to find!

New: S Drechsel Rd and W Missle Base Rd... (I'm back to the Missle Silos!)

Of the 8 Atlas E Missle Silos of the 567th SMS out of Fairchild AFB, Spokane, only one resided outside of Washington state. It was named for a nearby town in Washington, Rockford, but Site 3 Rockford Base was actually just over the WA border in ID.

The very first road available to go North after crossing into Idaho from Washington (WA State Highway 278/ID State Highway 58) is S Drechsel Rd and only 1/2 mile up Drechsel is Missile Base Road.

The map shows it extending out to Hwy 95, but it is an unimproved dirt road. From the Hwy 95 side there is a sign stating it is a summer road only, open from April to Sept. From the Drechsel Rd side it says Dead End and the farmer only paved to his house.

Since this is a PRIVATE RESIDENCE, I suggest taking a picture by the road sign and not going onto his property, even though (technically) it is a county road.

You can't see much at some of the sites. So goes underground missiles. But, you know it's there....

If you are coming from Coeur d"Alene, Hwy 58 is 22.5 miles South on Hwy 95 starting from where Hwy 95 turns and leaves town, crossing over the river.

Envoking Rule Number 8:

I revisited the location I left the tag at 2018:

20200926_144518.jpg

It appears the residence has posted signs asking for privacy.

The new tag will be:

20200929_114249.jpg

Right at state line, should be an easy grab for anyone cruising through. Plus, you can get battery operated toe warmers and stock up on your favorite dehydrated food! (My current favorite: Mountain House Fusilli Pasta with Italian Sausage... Mmmmm!!!)
