Paid For or Making Payments?

Paid cash for the ST1100. I really wanted a ST1300 but could not afford cash for it. So here I is, prefectly happy with the ST11.

I bought a bike last year, VTX 1300C and financed it. I have felt guilty ever since and do not plan on doing that again. Since the economic crunch we have been strapped. We had just opened our 3rd store when the bottom fell out and sales dropped hence the guilt over something that is now a full blown toy. I am a frugal person and did a lot of work to the X on the cheap. BOught and sold parts and made enough to put a fat tire kit and tons of chrome without hitting the family budget. Since I do all the work the labor was free...but still that nagging guilt.

So yes it is paid for, no it is not exactly what I wanted, but yes I am happy with it. I do ride most days as my daily travel takes me 140 miles per day, so I do recoup some of the loss, I refuse to say investment as a bike is never a investment.

Correction it is a investment in happiness, but monetarily it is a drain.

Sorta like kids now that I think it over. Dang I hope I do not have to choose. If based on costs alone...um .....I love em but they is spensive...I have 4 kids BTW

But if you sold the grease car, would you replace it?..or is it more trouble than it is worth?

Hummm. It started as a project toy that would and did pay for it self, worth it. Replacing all the other crap on a 23 year old car, not!

It was hard to imagine what or how big a relief it was to finally "burn" the mortgage, But for those of us who have done so, well it is really a nice feeling! I recommend it to anyone!

As of last Friday. It still hasn't sunk in yet... not quite sure how it's supposed to feel, but it's great!

I had a loan for one month. I financed about 1/2 of the price of the ST. I planned on keeping my old bike along with the ST13 but after riding the ST for 3 weeks or so I decided to sell the Aero. Don't miss it at all. Sold the old bike and paid off what was left on the loan with what I got and some extra kicked in so it's paid for in full.
