ST1100 Sub air filter replacement!!!

i checked my filter and it fell apart!! has anyone had rough running conditions because of broken filter?

Yes, not me, but there have been reports of those filter bits playing havoc with the carb diaphragms.

This is part of my periodic check and I change it with the air filter. The manual says to replace the air filter every 12000 miles. Look more often than that.

I just bought the bike 5 weeks ago,3or 4 weeks ago the filer looked fine inspected it and reused it! was syncn the carbs an saw how quickly the filter rotted away!! have a new one tuesday. Im jus hoping it doesnt screw up my carbs!
