The price of admission is too steep for me but it sure is a cool looking bike.

Spencer is probably right. I have heard that they are pricey to maintain and if you want a long distance bike it will cost a few more pennies than a Japanese counterpart.

Those Italian designers do know how to build a compelling machine. :D

Yeah, whether motorcycle, car, bicycle....the Italians are best. What's with that?

Here's a Ducati press release reposted at Rider's site:
http://www.ridermagazine.com/output.cfm?id=2362087

"Pricing starts at $14,995. Release date not yet available."
Hey, that's really not bad for a Ducati periodic service. But how much is the bike's MSRP going to be?

Srsly, does that price it out of your dreams, Bones? Or will you come to next year's NJSTOC on the new Multistrada?

Dreams are free. Much as I'd love a Duc, I doubt I'd have much patience for the "character" that comes as standard.

I just rode a Monster recently. I was very entertained by it, and can see the appeal of the Multi. More "toy" than "tour" for me though. Not that that's a bad thing.

This is one bike that looked so good in photographs and left me underwhelmed when I saw one in person. It seems out of proportion and the beak looks crazy although it appears to be functional in directing air. The guy who had the one I saw was going back to the dealer a second time to get the engine map reprogrammed and to have the instrument panel replaced. People who've ridden them give them high marks. I haven't ridden one yet.

Instead of the Multistrada, I'm "Jonesin'" for one of these... They area bit cheaper, and just as fun...
