Matching old tag: log cabin. This one is along the river through Golden:

Here's the new tag, a building with a date marker visible and the date is prior to 1900. This one is labeled "Everett Block 1873" in downtown Golden:

Enjoy!
:)

Re: North America "WILD CARD" TAG

BakerBoy sent me to a building with a date marker visible, date prior to 1900. This is the Pine Grove Presbyterian Church in Mount Airy, MD.

Now go find a house of worship that is neither Roman Catholic nor Protestant / nondenominational Christian:

New
cable stayed bridge. Note that these are not the same as suspension bridges, such as the Golden Gate. Cable stayed bridges are relatively new to the United States, basically got here in the 1970s or 80s. The pix attached are the Fred Hartman bridge East of Houston that spans the Houston Ship Channel connecting Baytown and LaPorte. I posted two pix because the bridge towers supporting the roadway are barely visible in the photo with my bike, but the other one shows an unobstructed view of the bridge. Interesting to note, I learned yesterday that this actually consists of two parallel bridges built side by side, one for eastbound traffic, the other for westbound traffic. Technically, I guess they could refer to it as the Fred Hartman bridges.

Re: North America "WILD CARD" TAG

Good tag. I'd never thought carefully about it, and didn't realize there was a distinction, though I have seen and crossed both types of span.

Here's a list+map of cable-stayed bridge locations in North America, for anyone interested, or in doubt as to whether a bridge near you might qualify. And here's the explanation of how cable-stayed bridges are different from suspension bridges, if you want to know.
I had reviewed the first link you referenced before I posted. It is not completely current, since I am aware of more cable stayed bridges in Texas than shown in the list. However,it links to several good articles. One in particular that I found interesting is the story behind the bridge over Tampa Bay.

So why not make it a 6 to 8 hour round trip on back roads? Nothing in the rules says you gotta take the direct route, after all. :)
Not sure my wife would appreciate that. . .I don't get many chances for all days rides. Our schedules are unusual, to say the least, and our off days only match up every other month. We'll see what happens if this rain ever goes away. . .

Took 7 hours riding mostly back roads to get to this. 300 miles of fun.

Old: Cable Stayed bridge

Ed Hendler Bridge.jpg
This bridge is the first major cable stayed bridge to be built in the US. It is so unique that it has become the unofficial symbol of the tri-city area. The bridge was known as the Pasco Kennewick Bridge, the Intercity Bridge, or the Cable Bridge, but was officially named the Ed Hendler Bridge after Hendler passed away in 2001. Hendler was a local insurance agent who was chair of the bridge commission that supervised the bridge project.

New: State/Province/etc.. welcome sign, which is not your home state. Extra credit if its at a border crossing...

I could get one of these in 5 hrs riding time if it wasn't for the heat wave. As it is, I'm hanging out close to the abode waiting to see if the heat wave will take a break anytime soon.

C'mon Joe, show a little optimism, we can always hope for a break. If we ever get some rain, that may cool things off for a day or so. I could ride in a little Light rain, compared to 98F temps.

Oh heck Don, it's cool in the mornings... I can't criticize, I haven't even played this game once.

Shoot. Could have done that one seven times over, since Saturday. Might still manage, since I am four states and hundreds of miles from home at the moment.
