I just installed a set of the Shinko 011 radial tires on my ST today.

I took it for a 45 mile ride just a little bit ago and they feel like they are very smooth and grip very nice in the corners.

The current mileage on my ST is 55255 when the tires were installed today. I will keep this updated with condition of the tires and wear. I am hoping they last longer then the Bridgestone 023's that I just took off.

Anxious to hear how they wear, Mike. I like the tread pattern for the rear although I wouldn't be rushing out to ride in a downpour. I'm betting they are very quiet?

They are very quiet and I will have to wait and see how they feel in the rain. I will keep this thread updated on how they are doing.

I think these replaced the 009 Ravens so will be interesting to see how they wear. I had a Raven on the rear of my ST once and got about half the miles as PR2s, so hope the Verge is better. I'm always on the searce for good tires.

mee three... I considered them when I couldn't get the PR2's a couple months ago and Tim at Two Bros offered a great price. But I decided to hear other's experiences first.

The only thing about the tread that concerned me was the relatively large groove and the presence of large grooved shapes just off centerline of the tire (where I've seen the worst cupping on my used tires). I wonder how those will fare and if the cupping will be amplified at those spots.

Mike, I hope you have a good report on this tire. I tried the Shinko Raven in the 180/55-17 size and it worked well for me. I got 8500 miles from it and it was the least expensive rear that I've had (cents/mile) thus far. I see the Verge also has a pretty low price from TB tars. Thanks for reporting.

Just the first update as I now have 600 miles on these tires and they are working great. They are very smooth and the turn in is very nice on the twisty roads. :D I see no uneven wear on these also. I will put a gauge on them this weekend and measure the depth of the tread. I hope they wear good.

Here is an update on these tires. I now have 1000 miles on these and they are working good with no problems noted. This first 1000 miles have been a combination of two lane back roads and some freeway, about 80% back road and 20% freeway. They are very smooth with no noise when going off the centers like the PR2's. So far I am happy with these tires.

I took a depth gauge to these tires today and the rear is at 7/32 and the front is at 5/32 I did not have the depth gauge to measure when they were new so I don't have the difference.

I hope that helps you!

Here are a couple of pictures of the tires at 1000 miles

OK I am still liking these tires. I now have 2000 miles on them and the depth on the tires did not change much in this last 1000 miles as the front tire still measures 5/32 and the rear is almost 7/32.

Here are the latest pictures.

Mike, is the front starting to scallop at the large sipe (upper right in picture)?
No they are still wearing smooth.

Had a chance to get them wet?
No heavy rain yet I did ride yesterday and hit some pretty wet roads in the shaded corners and the tires seam to stick pretty good. We are going to get rain later in the week so maybe I will take it out and check them out in a downpour.

I am awaiting the wet road performance report as well. I ride in the rain quite a bit. As I recall, Captain Gruuvy was a Shinko fan due to his high monthly riding mileage and the low tire cost. Being a former Avon user, I am disappointed in the reports of their new ones blistering, etc. So... I am looking for a new tire to try. How new is this Shinko model? Mark-
