Hey guys

My bike has been park since I had my neck surgery last Aug (2013) and the battery was old (about dead) then. I am really close to getting back on (cant wait).
We are in the process of moving, and needless to say ... its new battery time.

So ... I decided to try a MBTX9U (Replacement). The cca are a bit lower ... but I thought I would give it a try for $25 shipped ;) (7% off MOTO7)

EDIT: The Bat is a Sigmas Tek STX9-BS
Data

I never ordered from them before, but they are in good standings with resellerratings.com and the bbb.
I think if it lasts a yr, it paid for itself.

Will keep you updated
Tommy

Well let us know what the outcome is for that battery, for that price if it starts and lasts anytime at all you are in the good.

@UP
This one is a "Motobatt MBTX9U Battery (Replacement)" NOT a MOTOBAT but a Sigmas Tek STX9-BS. Have you been using the motobat or sigmas tek ?

@Jim
Yes ... I will keep you guys informed ;)

Tommy

Update (6-4-17)

The Sigmas Tek STX9-BS has fallen. Has been a good battery all all. 3 yrs not to bad. I am sure if I would have treated it better, I may could have gotten another summer or two ... maybe.
I would purchase again ... I will try others also.

Motobatt - The yellow ones with dual terminals (which make it really nice!)
Item - MotoBatt MBTX12U - $82.99. Actually over a year - 2/2013 when I bought one for each ST1100. No issues so far. I got tired of Yuasas giving the ghost on a regular basis. ;-)

Has anyone tried a Interstate battery I do believe the # is faytz145? I can get one for $111.95 off the truck that stops where I work.

I put a Motobatt in my ST1300 in March of 11. The bike never gets put on a battery tender.

It has been sitting for three weeks unridden and with no load the battery reads 12.55 volts or 90 percent charged. I usually change batteries every 2 or 3 years as I have had too many sudden battery failures here in the heat Texas.

Getting ready for a 3000 mile week long trip in a few weeks, and can't decide if I need to change the battery or not before leaving.

Load test it when starting the bike and if it stays over 10 volts keep it going, if not replace it.

MOTOBATT UPDATE

I installed a Mottobatt back on 12/29/10 after reading Jeff's first post.
I have gotten 3 and1/2 yrs out of it so far and it is still going strong.
I do use a battery tender.

That is good to know.

I think I will see what the voltage reads when starting it and then make my decision.

Thanks for the info.

Measured just over 10 volts when starting it. Took the bike for a ride and then let it sit over night. Measured 12.67 volts the next morning. Looks like the battery is still good for a while.

That sounds like the battery still has some service left in it for you. Now go ride and enjoy it!

Mottobatts purchased 11/30/2011 just passed 3 years of service. Still going strong. I keep a tender on the bike when not riding.

My MotoBatt just gave up the ghost . Looks as tough I got 4 to 4 & 1/2 yrs out of this battery, I installed it on 12/29/10 , it gave up on 4/7/15.

Not a bad investment.
