Maybe you guys can help me out here and let me know if I got a good deal or not...
I just purchased a used Motorcycle? cruise control for $400. It was working when it came off of an 2007 ST1300. It is missing the magnets but I understand that I can get those either from the manufacturer or maybe even a source that sells rare-earth magnets. This is pretty close to the same price as a new Rostra CC ($175) + GL1800 Back-lit Switch Assembly ($175) + Pulse Divider ($30-$50?). I am taking a pretty big risk, but assuming it works it should be much easier. Honestly I combed through every post of every thread here discussing the AudioVox/Rostra/Motorcycle? cruise controls and felt more comfortable with an installation that was much easier. I couldn't afford or justify the price of a new one but was able to find a used one.
So did I get a good deal? And for those of you who have Motorcycle? cruise controls, is there any things I need to replace while it is off the bike? I read something about an o-ring associated with the vacuum canister?!? I'm crossing my fingers and squinting my eyes as I wait to find out if I struck out, made it to first, or hit a home run... Thanks again, doug
