Re: ST1300 Ripping Up Laguna Seca

Very cool pics - be careful on the left side though, with pegs and cowling scraping the centerstand is not far behind. I got to do one of those two years ago...I had to remove the bags and tape the mirrors and lights. I was lined up to do another one on the ST this weekend but the broken collar bone nixed that.

Oops, wrong pic

Did that very thing with STick several years ago at Blackhawk, South Beloit, Illinois. The ST can sure surprise the sport bikes.

Raven, we gonna do Deming again in the spring??
Oh yeah, I'm definitely down for that!

Re: ST1300 Ripping Up Laguna Seca

Tires were OEM Bridgestones 30PSI front and rear. The OEMs stuck very well, but then again the surface at Laguna is world class. Wouldn't ride like that on the street though
Track provider photographer took the pics
Straight away speeds topped 120 until hard braking was in order to transition into the hairpin turn 2. ABS brakes allowed me to brake late and hard prior to the turn. Great brakes, the rotors did not turn blue. The ST has great brakes with no hint of brake fade throughout the day.
It was fun to see the looks on the sport riders faces when I passed on the inside and outside of most turns. They would blow past me in the straigh away but I'd reel them in within the next two turns. Most of their responses in the paddock were "you're friggin crazy"

The "puck" someone mentioned in an earlier post is a magnet, that's what kept me from sliding out It's one of those traffic light trippers. Works well getting the lights to turn green.

Good shots - Did you have friends at the track with you or was it a pro collecting some cash?

Can you tell us some more details...All the Details. What kind of speeds did you see? Did anyone on a sportbike pay you some respect after that? How was the acceleration compared to the other bikes? Did you turn your rotors blue?
