Anyone looking for a great radio for the bikle that has MP3 jack, and Sirius already in the unit, look at this link. The radio is controlled from wired remote that mounts somewhere on your handlebars. and the main unit mounts under the tail(ST1100) Not sure how much room under the 1300, but I'm sure you could find a spot. I ordered mine and it says takes 2-4 weeks to get it. I will let you know how it works and send some pic's once mounted. Cost $199.00

It is waterproof. I have an Audiovox unit that is similar and is also waterproof that has held up great for 2 years so far. I will be putting it on E-Bay as soon as my new one comes in.

not sure if it comes with the Sirius antenna, but I have an extra, They are flat and about an inch and a half square, very low profile. I have mine mounted on my dash under the windscreen and it works fine. I will send pictures ans soon as I get the new one installed. Got an e-mail this morning that it should be in in 2 weeks, it was back ordered from JBL.

This radio for $170.00 is not the same radio. The one I'm getting says MINI in the end of the model, JBL MBB MINI.

Oops, I see that anow. The remote is much smaller than the one I sourced.

The site I listed has a Sirius antenna that looks like a big mushroom. It's for a boat, tho, so prolly too large for our purposes.

Sure would be nice if this unit did HD Radio, too. I think that might be a longer term solution than satellite. Anyone got one? I've never tried it.

I saw the product announcement for the Mini in this months Rider, This is in first place to be my Fathers day gift. Who ever buys and installs first, be sure to take pictures during the install. Also anyone selected an antenna yet. I was thinking about one of the T shapped horizontal units and placing it under the Dash.

I am going to order the speaker boxes empty. The quote is below. I will then populate the box with water resistant speakers I find locally.

> Part number 1: 08A54-MCS-80001 - to order from Honda @ £6.38.
>
> Quantity 1: 1
>
> Part number 2: 08A54-MCS-80002 - to order from Honda @ £6.38.
>
> Quantity 2: 1

If you wish to order please quote estimate number 630097.

Regards
Denise

Prices exclude VAT @ 17.5% (if applicable) and postage.

Works out to about $15 USD plus postage. I would think the order would be under $60 USD

The 1300 has a designed spot for the speakers but the 1100 don't. Gonna have to get creative.

Many of you have seen my cheap, ugly, functional radio on ReSTored. Basically, a bag with a radio and a pair of 4" Mylar speakers in resonator boxes on top of the radio. The sound is pretty good and projects straight up into the open bottome of my helmet.

Not much wind noise with the tall Rifle screen, so it's good (at high volume) up to about 85. Can't go faster'n that anyway.

did they give you any of the dimensions of the "black box"? I am wondering if it will fit in the fairing pocket?

I called them to get the dimensions, but htey didn't have them. I now have to call the manufacturer tomorrow.

I found one very similar to it at www.rocktheboataudio.com/html/34911.html for $160. it is sirius ready, bit different looking wiht the control part though

I called both manufactures and got better descriptions on both radios...for anyone that is interested.

both are sat. radio capable, waterproof, can be plate mounted or flush mounted. standard antenna connections. all wires are supposed to be marked as to what they are for incase you need to do some customizing.

price is 199 (free shipping)

controller dimensions 4"longx2"widex1/2deep
black box dimensions 7"widex6"deepx2"high (the height does taper down to about 1 3/4" at the back)
htere is supposed to be an article on it in the current issue of rider magazine. manufacturer said that there is a motorcycle specific version that is carried only by www.hoppeindustries.com. i went the website and it wasn't on there.

price is 160 (not sure on shipping here)
controller dimensions 7 1/8"widex2 1/8" highx1 3/8" deep
black box dimensions 8 1/2"widex6 1/2"longx1 3/4"high

found this one too, haven't had a chance to call on it yet though

between the handle bars is my plan as well...

are you going to power it straight from the batt.? or would it be possible/easier to connect it to the quartet harness?
