Just updated my lifetime bike miles and came in with 100,480 miles by the end of 2014. A milestone for me. Unfortunately not all on one bike (so no award is warranted of course). A little over one third of those miles were on the ST1100. 92K of those miles were added since I bought my GW 13 years ago. Not a lot of average miles per year compared with some here but still a lot of miles for someone like me. :)

It's not the miles but the enjoyment you get from those miles. That is still a lot more miles than some will ever get so good for you!

Congrats on the milestone. Does it really make a difference that you stuck with one brand or specific bike or did it on several? Balderdash. This is all about your enjoyment and your accomplishment - not what others think.

New England?!?
My first bike, the HD, I did ride in New England while I was in the Navy... for about 2 years... for about 4800 miles. All the rest of those miles were right here in the great Midwestern state of Iowa.

And of course it doesn't really matter if the miles are all on one bike or two dozen bikes (I just wanted to be sure no one was thinking I was looking for an award). This is a personal accomplishment that I have enjoyed thoroughly all along the way. I was just a bit pleasantly surprised when I added it all up that I've gone that many miles. I knew how many lifetime miles I had at the end of 2013 but didn't really think of it until I saw that over 100k figure. And I do intend to keep on riding because, after all, that is what it is about.

I wish I had kept track of my lifetime miles. Started street riding in 1965 and rode approx. 10,000 a year for the next 6 years (60,000 miles). In 1972 I started commuting to work by motorcycle (plus pleasure riding and vacations) in the motorcycle industry which I did for 17 years, I'm guessing 25,000 miles a year (425,000 miles). Changed jobs and only rode on weeknights, weekends and vacations and averaged approx. 10,000 a year for the next 24 years (240,000 miles). Retired a year and a half ago, and rode 13,500 that year. This year I rode 27,000 miles. If I were guessing and it would only be a guesstimate at this point, I would think I have ridden in the neighborhood of 765,000 miles. However I didn't start actually recording my mileages until Jan 1, 2008, since then it's been 94,083 up until Dec 31, 2014. My goal is to ride until I am 70. (5 1/2 more years) if I can average 20,000 a year for the next 5 1/2 that would be an additional 110,000 or 875,000 miles. Won't make a million, but it's been a heck of a ride so far. If I can make it to 75 years old..who knows?
