Howdy.

Recently bought myself a '92 ST1100 (non-ABS/TCS) for cheap -- Poor thing had been rear-ended whilst stopped to let emergency vehicles pass.
Result of it all is that the rear wheel is damaged, along with some of the cosmetics and left-side muffler. P/O decided it wasn't worth saving. I say it is.

Sooooo I've found a rear wheel from a '98 model ST1100 for cheap at a wreckers'.
Catch is, I'm not sure if the wheels are interchangeable or not.
Place is too far away for me to actually check in person.

Just eyeballing them, I'd say there really doesn't seem to be much of a difference, year-to-year.
I'd assume that ABS/TCS-model wheels don't work, but I'm no expert.

Which is why I turn to you -- The experts.

As a sidenote i must say I'm thrilled to finally own one of these puppies and i'm very much looking forward to working on it.
It's like a spiritual big brother to my other bike, a '78 CX500.

You should be fine. There were some slight machining differences between the STD and ABS but STD to STD should be fine.

Yeah, figured it should be alright.
Thing is - and I forgot to mention this - is I'm not sure if the '98 model wheel I found is ABS or not.

That looks like a non ABS wheel to me Fars, now call your dragon off.
The wheel will be drilled and tapped to accept the ABS ring on the ABS wheel.
Good luck and good on ya for taking it on.
Upt'North.

Thanks for the warm welcome fellas!
Placed an order on the wheel, so we'll see what happens.

Dragon's been called off. For now.
