I did something similar under my top box.

I also replaced the lower reflector with a red reflector / led light.
It's a stud mount and fit into the existing hole. I just needed to run power & ground down from the tail light.

Both the box mount light and reflector replacement light were setup with a flasher unit while I left the stock brake lights non-flashing.

I like the light and the fact that it's a stud mount to replace the reflector is a bonus. May have to add more farkle. I want to replace the red side reflector with small led light too.

I did that with my rear side reflectors. I used a set that's a relector / side marker / turn signal LED set. Who knows how effective they are but I like 'em.

Definitely a real eye catcher!
That's the idea... already almost been hit from behind a couple of times..


Here's a video. First bit is the skidding, the second bit shows the tire tracks. Sorry I only had the helmet cam on and not the rear camera too.
