I have 1993 Honda ST 1100 the alternator is not charging any suggestions on how to modify for retrofit a newer alternator?

You can buy an alternator off ebay new for $135 40 amp unit. you will also need a plate kit which is also sold on ebay. here are the instructions on how to do it.
you will also need to alter the wiring details should be in that link.
