brake light not workiing

noticed last night that my brake light only works when the rear brake is applied, do I just need a new brake switch? if so where is the switch and how do you replace it.

Just checked. There's definately a clicking sound from the switch when you squeeze the front brake hanlde. Already dark and raining at the salt mine to see exactly how it connects.

would you happen to know the steps for removal and replacement of that switch?

Unplug the two wires and touch them together. If the light comes on it is the switch. If it is not clicking, it is probably the switch. There is just the two wires and one screw. I had mine replaced under warranty. It is only a twenty dollar part. I carry a spare with me now. Not worth messing with the warranty.

I just replace mine a couple weeks ago, didn't have to remove the lever at all.

About 17 bucks from bike bandit.

Other than replacing the thermostat at 30,000 miles, that's the only part I've had to replace in over 100,000 miles. Easily the most reliable motorcycle of ever owned.

P.S excluding of course tires, breaks and battle damage:D so
