The Battlax 020 is a fun tire. It just wants to party in the twisties. Perhaps because of it's block pattern, I'm confusing twitchy with responsive. Anyway, I like the new energetic tires, and it makes my 1300 wake up and smell the asphalt. I'm also running 020s on the rear, first experience with Bridgestones. I've had great experiences with all tires except the stock Dunlops, but that was many years ago. If they even still make the 020's try them for the fun factor. ( I got mine from a State Trooper on a ST1300 who traded his Bridgestones for Metzlers, so I don't know if they still stock them.)

Mine came with the 020s, I've tried various other types but always came back. I'm running dark side now on both wheels, Hancook and a BT45 up front but would probably go back to the 020s if I had to, but so far with over 20,000 on the darkside setup I think I found my happy place. :D

Living in the Pacific NW we get lots of wet stuff; your review is reassuring and what I hope for in great tires.

Ive found that for me ( mostly 2 up ), the 020f seems to last the longest on miles. No problem in rain or twisties.
