That's were I started.
Is that 500 watt "extra" or entire output of the alternator? 500w is about 40 amp. That's up at 5,000 rpm's as well. I don't know how fast they turn but that sounds like up near the top?
Sounds like the size of the alternator to me.
In reading the link, it looks like a liner and gloves present no issues.
500 watts would be the alternator output not extra available and a pretty decent size at that.

The st1300 is rated at 640w and thats at speed as well.

Yup, and from memory the "extra" wattage to run gear for the ST1300 is in the neighborhood of 250 w. There was a spread sheet around here someplace!
Versys guys told me about 110 watts "extra" to run stuff for that bike.
That's were I was going with the Burgman. Doesn't sound like an issue just curious as to what it is.
Probably 'cause I'm a geek! :)
my
liner is 77w
gloves are 27w
grips are 20 something w
looks like I'm over for the Versys
I bumped up the (2) head lamps in the ST and have a heated seat as well.
One nice thing about the ST13!

To expand a bit

650 has a 500 Watts Alternator

Burgman headlights, turn signals, ECU, brake/taillight, and indicators are
about 250 Watts

Many on the BUSA site confuse 120 W max referred to in the Owners Manual. This is for the accessory outlet in the glove box only.

I run dual 55w lights, symtec heated grips, warm and safe liner, RD, GPS, iPod simultaneously without problem at speed...If I'm stuck in traffic, I'll kill the lights if the voltmeter indicates.

There are many who run similar set-ups without issue on the Burger King

Hope this helps...The BUSA http://www.burgmanusa.com/ has a handful of some very knowledgeable members, who can answer just about anything Burgman related

Thanks. That's what I was after. Sounds like it has similar electrical power as the ST. Heated stuff adds up in wattage.
Volt meter stock?
