Looks like Columbia is going to be making some clothing with treated material that actually cools... and I mean by more of a chemical mechanism than just evaporation from a wicking material.

I'm already pretty religious about using moisture wicking materials when I ride in hot weather, but this new stuff could be pretty 'cool'.

Garment won't be available until 2012. Really high humidity may be a performance factor as well. 50 - 70 trips through the washer is what Columbia says one can expect. That'll last for at least a year... looking forward to 2012.
