At last, if you own a 9500ix or other Escort Radar Detector that uses the Defender databases, you can now update your database AND your detector Firmware . . . directly on your Macintosh computer (if you're using OS 10.6 or higher).

Just released on 8Feb12.

Escort has a beta version of their Escort Detector Tools that works perfectly.
? You'll need your detector Serial Number.
? You'll need your Database Code (e.g. you have an active subscription to the database)
? You'll need a copy of "Escort Detector Tools", which you can get here:
http://www.escortradar.com/productregistration/index.php
? and you'll need a USB cable to connect the detector to your computer AND some way of powering the detector during the update. (I use a 12v automotive jump starter battery at my desk instead of balancing everything in my car or on the bike).

I've updated twice now and it works great. It'll update the firmware first, then the database.

FYI.
