After 6 years of thinking about it and 2 months of pulling it all together, I have my brake rotor grinding machine completed. Born from the need to address old brakes on 25+ year old motorcycles, I can dress a rotor and flange and hold flatness and parallelism to .0002". I have a video, but it is too large to post.
Anyone in the area that needs your rotors dusted, let me know.

Teh manual states that the ST1100 rotors can't be turned and should be replaced. Do you think it would be safe to use on our rotors?

Bike rotors are too hard and thin to make a lathe cut and get them perfect. That is why I put this setup together, I can grind .001" at a time and not heat up the disk to the point that it creates warpage. As for what the manual recommends, they don't anticipate this process is readily available. As long as you don't reduce the rotor beyond the recommended minimum thickness, grinding a disk is certainly acceptable.
