John: No, I remember this guy's problem was a bad solder connection on the rotor, not stator. He posted the pics of it.

Bingo !!! That's it. Thank you Andrew. Looks like my memory still works at times. My wife says I am imagining things, tho.
It looks like only the cover needs to be removed to gain access to that side of the rotor. An easy job to do, if required. I may pull the cover off my spare old OEM alternator and check those soldered connections. And if the bearing doesn't feel smooth, I could have my local auto electric shop replace it.
