Recently purchased Gerbing 12V EX Pro heated pants. I pulled the jacket connector through the zipped pocket and out came a head-phone plug in addition to the coaxial connector. What is the head-phone plug for?

They state that they have built-in connections for heated socks. Could it be for that?

No the sock connectors would be the same type as the one labeled pants. I think the internal 'pads' that make up the warming areas may have their own connectors.... just guessing... I'd see if they can replace.

Thanks Obo, ... I was thinking it might connect to a Li-on battery as an alternative power source when away from the bike, but you're closer to the answer.

The 7v lithium ion battery packs use the main style connector I believe.

Recently purchased Gerbing 12V EX Pro heated pants. I pulled the jacket connector through the zipped pocket and out came a rca-style connector in addition to the SAE connector. What is the rca connector for?
Hope you don't mind a little terminology correction:

The power plug is a coaxial barrel connector. The other plug shown is a mono 1/8" headphone plug.

An SAE connector is a 2-prong version of a trailer-light connector with one male pin, one female pin.

An RCA plug is the plug that cables use for analog audio and video signals, and some digital audio.

Old question, I realize. But for the record, when I contacted Gerbing about those connectors it was explained they are for a past generation controller which uses them to sense temperature. My late 2022 purchased controls do not use them.
