Sweet! Now, be prepared for how crappy it rides! Controls, tires and suspensions (especially suspensions) have evolved tremendously over the past 30 years. What was yesterday's state-of-the-art is now a 'how did we stay in the saddle on that thing'?

I agree, I watched her ride it home and it appeared stable. Having been married to her for 12 years she's not shy about speaking up and has reports of plenty of power and fun. It is a 4 cylinder.

Looks sharp! Kerker pipe?? They were associated with Kawasaki in the 80's. I remember a very cool ad campaign, and posters, with the ELR replica and accompanying Kerker pipe, with the tag line reading 'Kerker Kicks a**!'. Good memories from that time of my life.

It was definetly someones baby! Congrats on the Purchase, starter fluid in a saddle bag for cold winter mornings and remember that them early Kawi's are very cold natured beast's. (they like to idle on full choke for awhile when its cool out)

yeah, it'll be able to hang, as long as you don't mind a tow strap connected behind your ride, ha ha.
It really does have some punch and that's before any fuel cleaner, or other "checks" made for a new purchase.

Very nice KZ, we had a 1981 KZ550 LTD for a while, it was my wife's bike. She rode it for a few years, she still has her MC endorsment just in case she ever wants to ride by herself again. I still have my 1978 KZ650 & love it!

Nice. I think it's great to have a vintage that is still performing. Ever looked for parts on ebay, 15.00 for this, 22.00 for that, it is amazingly inexpensive if you do your own work.

I have searched and used ebay alot. A very good parts source for Vintage inline 4's and some V-twins is www.z1enterprises.com they carry alot of items and are very helpful. I have an order that should be here tomorrow. I do all my own work (that is possible) myself. I have had to have a few broken bolts welded to and removed for me. Here is a pic of my KZ650, original motor with some internals replaced with parts from other 650 motors. All together I have over 135,500 miles on her and she runs great!

thanks for the link, I just ordered the K&N air filter from ebay 32.50, including shipping, not likely to see an air filter that inexpensive for a while.
