I need help deciding on which FRS/GRMS radio for my new Starcom1 Advance. Looking for cheap, hopefully with a DC adapter so I can plug it into my Powerlet with 12v cig plug. I also purchased the Starcom PTT so I guess that the radio has to have VOX? Also which Starcom cable would I need to order for your radio suggestion. I will be shopping for radio at Frye's, or Best Buy, or etc...?

Thanks! You're the bomb!

You might want to give Kim at California Sport Touring a call and find out what cables they stock to narrow your search. I'm using a cheap Cobra right now but Starcom does not (yet) have a cable for the newer single pin Cobra set up. I've had to add a spacer in the form of a tiny "o" ring to the pin of a Motorola cable to make it work. Be aware that the products listed on the Starcom homepage may be for different radio models than we get on this side of the pond. IIRC, the low end Motorola FRS radios are supported.
