Time for a new tire. I have worn out a Hankook V12 EVO and now I see Hankook has out the V12 EVO2. Any word on whether the EVO2 model will fit on a 1300?

Thanks.

I have run the V12 EVO tire that lasted 18000 miles for me, did not like the way the tire handled. I went to the Goodyear Triple Tread after that which handled better and lasted 35000 miles, love this tire but the cost is higher. I then tried a Pirelli tire which lasted 15000 miles, and cost about what the Goodyear did. I am now running this BF Goodrich tire which has over 5000 miles and is looking like it may go as far as the Goodyear tire at a large savings over that tire. Here is the link to it https://www.st-owners.com/forums/showthread.php?146717-Another-option-for-the-ST-BF-Goodrich-G-Force-Comp-2&highlight=

Look at the Hankook V4 if you can find one. I have about 25,000 miles on mine and I am estimating there is about 8,000 more to go. I like how it handles at 28 psi. Next January I will be looking for another.

Installed the new Evo 2 tire today, replacing a Evo 1 - Fitted the Evo 2 deflated on the bike, and after airing up to 42 pounds, no rubbing. Am running a Hannigan sidecar mated to this ST1300, and the oversize car tire provides improved stability, less wandering over road imperfections, etc.

I have been running the new Evo2 and the tire width is the same dimension as the Evo. The Evo2 runs as good or better than the Evo. The tire edge is more rounded than the old tire so you don't notice the edge as much while breaking it in. The Evo2 is supposed to have more silica and thus better grip that the Evo. So far the tire is looking good. I run it with 32psi. It handles great in the rain as did the Evo. The Evo2 was a little harder to get on but it was a cooler day and didn't get the tire warmed up before putting it on. I like to leave it in the sun a little to help warm it. I think it will be a great CT. Will see how the mileage compares to the old tire. Also running Dyna-beads for balancing in both tires!

Mounted my EVO 2 today. Harry you are right it is not as square as the last model EVO. No balancing needed on mine. Felt great in the corners!!!

The BFGoodrich that 970Mike is using rubbed my swingarm, but the EVO2 slid in fully inflated.
Have you tried th good year triple tred? Did it rub your swing arm also? Just curious because I have triple tred on now and getting ready to replace after 35K miles with bf Goodrich.

Well, I am still around, and yes put 140 miles on that Evo 2 rear tire yesterday - holding up well with 8,000 miles of wear. Also picked up a Russell Day Long saddle listed for sale on this site today.
The ST1300 Rig continues to serve me well!!!
