Before leaving on a 2000 mile trip, I changed to DELO 15w 40. While the motor is much cooler, I don't like the clunky rough feeling from the shifting. Very notchy and stiff. With noises like that, it can't be good for the gears. I think I'll try the synthetic oil next time.
