With the Summer gone and I have only added 3,085 miles with the three bikes, so I have decided to thin the heard. :think1:

Currently I'm playing musical tupperware:

The 2012 is :bk13:, it will be :dr13: (Why? because it's the bike I will keep and might as well have the newest tupperware on it! :)
The 2004 is :dr13:, it will turn to the :bl13:. I figure it will be easier to sell that way.
The 2010 is :bl13:, it will be :bk13: I'll offer it to my son, that was looking to buy one of my bikes.

I've drained the tanks on the 2010 & 2004, and have stripped the 2010, so I can put the tupperware on the 2004. And I've been washing the blue parts. I've also taken the 2004 tail section apart and I'm getting ready to put the blue tail section on it.

I was going to fix up that 2006 ST1300P I bought back in June, for one of my sons, but I have decided to sell him the 2010, instead. It just won't have all the extras that he didn't want anyway.

I'll have to see what I have in the ST1300P, and just sell it as a project to someone.

That leaves the 2004. I'll put it up for sale sometime next Spring.

What's with the '06 P?
It is a total "need to completely go thru" project.

When I bought it, it hadn't ran since 2020. I swapped the throttlebody, with one in my parts, changed out the spark plugs, put a battery in it. Swapped out the rightside Cop switches, flushed the clutch and rode it around the block. So it runs. I don't have the tank or sidecovers, but I do have an extra 05 red tank and black or blue, sidecovers.

Well the 2004 is no longer a :dr13: I removed the last of it

, and before putting the blue front cowl on, I decided to put a different windshield mechanism on it. So I pulled off the 2010's and boy was it dirty!

I cleaned it up and I'll put it back together tomorrow.

Making progress!

I removed all the black plastic off the 2012 and have been putting the red on!

So far I have the tail section done. The red tank is on, the front cowl is on and the left main fairing is mostly on. I'll be continuing tomorrow and hope to have it done.

I plan on taking my time, putting the 2010 back together. I'll clean it up as I go.

So just keeping one? As I get older, I think I really don’t need 3 bikes, but like them all and can’t decide, so I don’t.
Trust me, it is a very hard decision for me. I really have a hard time of letting anything go!

But I'm not putting miles on them and they are such great bikes, I just hate seeing them go to waste!

Completely understand- as we get older (and I’m getting there) it’s all about simplifying your life (or it should be). Less bikes (and cars) = less to maintain, more garage space, and an easier life. I have to re-grease my steering head bearings on the 2000 (or change them if worn- I had tapered rollers put in when the bike was relatively new), new fork oil, and on the Silverwing, new bearings and new springs/ new fork oil- generally easy services but I’m too lazy to do them (and have all the parts ready to go). I can’t even blame too little time to do them- I work 2 days a week now.

All of the 1300s looke to be in really nice shape.

They actually are. Even the 2010, I have put over 100,000 miles on it, and I wouldn't hesitate to ride it cross country. just over 40K miles ago, I replaced the clutch, clutch slave and the waterpump. I plan to sell it to one of my boys next Spring.

Status as of today!

The 2012 (was :bk13: ) is now all red :dr13: and ready to ride. I still need to find the proper front fender, but what is on it will have to do for now!

20231027_2012-3.jpg

The 2004 (was :dr13: ) is now all blue :bl13: and ready to ride.

20231025_2004-blue.jpg

And the 2010 (was :bl13: ) is striped down waiting for a cleanup, including maintenance on the windshield mechanism. Then I clean up the black tupperware :bk13: and put on it.

Tomorrow, I'll have to clean up the garage, before Chris gets home.
